On Highway 78 in the Southern California desert, which is on the ACA Southern Tier route, is a store whose name on the map appears as the "town" of Glamis. There is no town at Glamis. It is only a bizarre store that caters to people who own RVs and drive motorcycles, dune buggies, ATVs, etc around the desert, which is legal in this area. The store does offer things useful to a bicyclist, such as, food and water. However, the prices are truly outrageous and I would only plan on stopping here to eat food you carried. It does provide shade for this purpose (some of the only shade you will find anywhere near there). |
